We have been serving the Fairview area for more than 20 years. We have three small animal doctors and one equine doctor.

Dr. Ted Wright

A proud graduate of the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Ted Wright has been practicing equine medicine in WNC since 2003. Raised in both Houston, TX, and Chattanooga, TN, he brings over 20 years of hands-on experience working with horses. His professional interests include equine dentistry, geriatric care, preventative medicine, and ophthalmology.

Dr. Leigh Ann Hamon

​Dr. Leigh Ann Hamon graduated from Texas A&M and founded the practice in 2001. When not seeing patients, she enjoys horseback riding, gardening and playing with her mini aussies.

Dr. Betsey Mitchell

Dr. Wendy Lichtig

Dr. Mitchell graduated from NC State with degrees in Animal Science and Chemistry and stayed for her degree in Veterinary Medicine. Afterwards, she completed an internship in small animal internal medicine, surgery and emergency. She lives in Fletcher with her husband, four kids and numerous pets. She enjoys many activities, but mostly ones that involve kids begging for her fun to be over.

Dr. Wendy Lichtig graduated cum laude from Colorado State University in 1997. She then did an internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey. Wendy loves all small animals, with a particular affinity for cats, of which she has too many of her own.

Kim

Kim graduated from UNC-Asheville and earned a B.A. in business administration. Shortly after, she got her first dog, which started her obsession with animals. She now lives in Weaverville with her husband, 3 dogs, 6 chickens and 2 cats. She spends her free time hiking, swimming and snuggling her pets.

Hillary

Hillary graduated from AB Tech's Veterinary Technology program in 2013. She is especially interested in dog training, and trains and competes in agility and sheep herding with her border collies.

Lizzy

​Lizzy holds a B.S. in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Studies from the University of Connecticut and graduated cum laude with a Master of Public Health from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. After her first year in a Ph.D. program at the University of Southern California, she chose to leave academia to pursue her path as an entrepreneur. When Lizzy isn’t riding part-time in the truck with Dr. Ted, she is a spiritual life coach, tantric yoga teacher, death doula, and active volunteer. Her great loves are her two Appaloosa horses, two rescue pups, and new Bantam chicken, Huey. ​
